Corm buds of taro Niue were grown in solutions with a wide range of K concentration. 50% maximum K uptake was at 0.021 meq/l. Leaf K content at 13 weeks was significantly correlated with yield, but no critical concentration was evident. Yield increased to 4.5 kg/corm for the maximum LAI at 11 weeks. Plants given medium K concentrations were immature at harvest at 43 weeks.
