Practical evaluation of recycled animal waste protein in feedlot steers

A recycled protein product made from feedlot waste, Ceres Land Co. fraction "CII" had 29.8% crude protein, 11.5% fat, 2.8% fibre, 3.5% Ca and 1.3% P in DM. Four groups of 75 bullocks, of mean initial weight 812 to 829 lb, were given diets of maize, maize silage, lucerne hay, molasses and minerals to appetite. Three supplements tested were 1.5 lb of a commercial protein supplement, 2 lb CII or 1 lb CII with urea.
