Predatory efficiency of Gambusia affinis in relation to different illuminations

The efficiency of Gambusia affinis as a predator of the larvae of Culex pipiens fatigans Wied. (C. fatigans) was studied at Bangalore in India at different light intensities from 0 to 104 lux. Predatory efficiency in fish of both sexes followed a particular pattern, for which a mathematical formula is given.
