It is reported that Xenopsylla cunicularis Smit, a species known from Morocco and Spain, was found on the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) in Haute-Garonne, France, some 25 km south-west of Toulouse. Other fleas known to parasitise rabbits in France are Odontopsyllus quirosi quirosi (Gil Collado), O. q. episcopalis Beaucournu & Gilot and Caenopsylla laptevi relicta Beaucournu, Gil Collado & Gilot.
