There are strain specific differences in the secretion of prolactin (PRL) which may be important in the development of mammary tumours; after perphenazine injection, PRL concn. in sera of 2 high (C3H/St and CBA/St), 1 medium (DBA/2St) and 2 low (C57BL/St and BALB/cST) mammary tumour incidence strains was lower, intermediate and higher respectively.
