Protein and oil content of soya-bean varieties

Protein and oil content of soya-bean varieties

Research Bulletin of the Hokkaido National Agricultural Experiment Station Hokkaido Nogyo Shikenjo Kenkyu Hokoku 119: 109-124

In a study of 702 varieties of Glycine max of Japanese and foreign origin, 30% had a crude protein (CP) content of 38-39.9% and 40% had an oil content of 20-21.9%. CP content ranged from 30.3 to 46.9% and oil content from 12.6 to 27.9%; varietal differences were enhanced under cultivation in cool regions.
