Protein quality in the endosperm of mutant forms of maize

Protein quality in the endosperm of mutant forms of maize

Breeding high lysine maize, 11 Part 2: 116-123

The mutants studied had small grains (1000-grain weight 147-240 g) and differed in the proportion of endosperm in the grain, the mutants o2 and su having the most weakly developed endosperm and wx having a better developed endosperm. The mutants with a minimum content of zein were singled out. These were all o2 sources and analogues. The o2 source K257305 had the highest lysine content of the sources studied.
