Weanling albino rats of both sexes weighing 37 g were deprived of riboflavin or pair-fed with the deprived on complete diet for 16, 32 or 48 days. Pyridoxal-5'-phosphate (PLP) concentration was not affected in muscle of rats deprived of riboflavin, but PLP in liver diminished in advanced stages of deprivation. Activities of tyrosine aminotransferase and serine dehydratase were significantly higher and that of homoserine dehydratase was significantly lower in livers of rats deprived of riboflavin than in the pair-fed controls.
