Rapeseed oilmeal in animal feeding. Comparison of oilmeals of toasted or fermented rapeseed, soya and groundnut for fattening young bulls

Annales de Zootechnie 24(2): 209-215

Salers bulls 9 months old and of average weight 319 kg in 4 groups of 16 were fed on diets of oilmeals and maize grain. The oilmeals for the separate groups were toasted rapeseed, fermented rapeseed, soya or groundnut. Green wheat silage was given for 49 days and dried beet pulp for 105. The diets were isonitrogenous and isoenergetic. The bulls given rapeseed ate less of the oilmeal and got less crude protein.
