Rationalization of milk testing for diagnosis of mastitis

Rationalization of milk testing for diagnosis of mastitis

Monatshefte für Veterinärmedizin 33(9): 327-330

ISSN/ISBN: 0026-9263

For diagnosis of mastitis, an efficient sampling system is necessary. Herd examination and checks of individual animals must be made, sample transport must be properly organized and time-saving analytical techniques with high diagnostic accuracy are essential. Recorded data from individual animals should be used not only for statistical purposes, but for further diagnostic and preventive measures. Results obtained from other techniques of udder testing should be used for herd monitoring.
