Rationalization of wood harvesting from intermediate fellings by the use of felling machines

Rationalization of wood harvesting from intermediate fellings by the use of felling machines

Wissenschaftliche Zeitschrift der Technischen Universitat Dresden 24(3/4): 829-830

Discusses trials of the Soviet LP-2 feller/buncher at Tharandt, E. Germany, for thinning in Picea abies stands, with special reference to planning the work sequence of (a) creating the skidding lanes needed for the machine, (b) the actual selective thinning, and (c) subsequent skidding with different makes of tractor. Branches were trimmed at a landing with the EA-35 machine.
