In Ohio, wheat spindle streak mosaic has commonly reduced wheat yields by 5-22% and by up to 44% with favourable disease conditions. Symptoms and yield losses were more severe with temp. <60 deg F. Although incidence of the virus was reduced, yields were not improved with delay in sowing due to other factors limiting yield.
