Regeneration of plants from habituated and Agrobacterium-transformed single-cell clones of tobacco

Regeneration of plants from habituated and Agrobacterium-transformed single-cell clones of tobacco

Molecular and General Genetics 152(2): 111-117

Habituated tissues grow actively in vitro on a minimal medium and on this hormone-free medium show no signs of morphogenesis in darkness. One habituated and three Abrobacterium-transformed crown-gall callus strains, all hormone autotrophic, were cloned and tested for regeneration of plants. The crown-gall strains originated from unorganized tumours induced by highly virulent strains of A. tumefaciens.
