Regional blood flow to the stomach and small intestine in ponies

American Journal of Veterinary Research 38(12): 2047-2048

ISSN/ISBN: 0002-9645

PMID: 596701

Studies on regional blood flow to the stomach and small intestine were performed in nine anaesthetized ponies. Carbonized microspheres (15 plus or minus 5 mu m in diameter) labelled with 85Sr were injected into the left atrium to determine blood flow distribution. In four ponies, regional flow to mucosal-submucosal layers of the stomach and the small intestine were also measured.
