3 nitric phosphate fertilizers with 30, 50 and 70% of their P in water-soluble form were compared with 3 water-soluble sources in a field trial with wheat cv. Kalyan Sona in a calcareous loamy-sand soil in the winter 1971-2. Availability coefficient ratios indicated that nitric phosphate of 70% water-solubility was as efficient as the water-soluble sources, whereas nitric phosphates of 50 and 30% water solubility and rock phosphate were less efficient.
