Relative sensitivities of corn inbreds with Texas male sterile cytoplasm to Helminthosporium maydis race T toxin

Relative sensitivities of corn inbreds with Texas male sterile cytoplasm to Helminthosporium maydis race T toxin

Proceedings of the American Phytopathological Society 2: 63

The order of susceptibility of five maize inbreds, with Texas male-sterile cytoplasm but different nuclear genes, to H. maydis (Cochliobolus heterostrophus) race T differed from the order of sensitivity to the toxin produced by the fungus, suggesting that the nuclear genes which condition susceptibility to the fungus apparently do not modify sensitivity to its toxin.
