Abstract
The results of examinations of domestic and wild pigs and carnivores for Trichinella spiralis, carried out in GFR from 1970 to 1975, are presented in a table. Of 762 human sera examined in 1975, 8 were positive for T. spiralis and of 863 examined in 1976, 5 were positive. In an epidemic in North Bavaria in December 1976, 73 people were infected by eating raw sausage from a wild pig.
