Studies near Kyustendil, Bulgaria, showed that the eggs of Archips crataeganus (Hb.) pass the summer and the first part of the autumn (up to 10th November) in true diapause, but that they are in a post-diapause condition in late autumn, winter and early spring. The embryo grows and develops without further interruption during the post-diapause period.
