Out of 684 varieties tested for four years in strongly infective conditions in the field, none was immune and only Ackersegen, Akebia, Arnika, Carnea, Hindenburg, Kotnov, Patrones, Reichskanzler and Sarka were strongly resistant. The remainder could be allocated to seven categories of lower resistance, and almost 75% of the total showed intermediate resistance, falling within categories 4, 5 and 6. The resistance of 684 vars. tested is expressed in degrees of a 9-point scale.
