Multiple resistance to 18 antibiotics was shown by 140 strains of bacteria (42 Escherichia coli, 26 Klebsiella, 52 Proteus mirabilis, 10 Streptococcus, 5 Pseudomonas, 5 Enterobacter) isolated from faeces samples from 102 calves with diarrhoea between December 1976 and June 1977.
