Resistance to barley yellow dwarf virus in barley

Resistance to barley yellow dwarf virus in barley

Nordisk Jordbrugsforskning 57(5): 1121-1122

In Norwegian tests a number of two-rowed varieties of Ethiopian origin showed a significant degree of tolerance, which, though not sufficient to give full protection, was relatively stable under different conditions. Several of the varieties also exhibited a clear resistance to infection, particularly CI3906-1. From crossing studies it was concluded that tolerance and resistance are independent, and are monofactorial and recessive in inheritance.
