Resistance to chlortetracycline of Escherichia coli strains isolated from broilers fed different chlortetracycline levels

Resistance to chlortetracycline of Escherichia coli strains isolated from broilers fed different chlortetracycline levels

Documenta Veterinaria 1976; 8(2): 159-169

A total of 1025 coli strains isolated from groups of 200 broilers fed chlortetracycline (CTC) at 20, 50, 100 and 200 mg/kg of feed in three feeding experiments were examined for sensitivity to CTC. An increase in the number of resistant strains with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 100-250 mu g CTC/ml was found in groups fed 50, 100 and 200 mg/kg.
