Resistance to leafhopper in upland cotton

When 57 varieties were grown in 1972-1973 in the field, HB69 was resistant to Amrasca biguttula with an average of two insects per plant and no hopper burn. In a second experiment with 32 of these varieties grown in pots in a glasshouse, HB69 was again the most resistant with an average of 25.7 insects per plant. Seven of the 32 were classified as resistant.
