Resistance to malathion and dichlorvos in stored-product insects in New South Wales

Resistance to malathion and dichlorvos in stored-product insects in New South Wales

Brady, E U; Brower, J H; Hunter, P E; Jay, E G; Lum, P T M; Lund, H O; Mullen, M A; Davis, R Organisers: Proceedings of the First International Working Conference on Stored Product Entomology, Savannah, Georgia, USA, October 7-11, 1974: ; 608-617

Resistance to malathion has been monitored in New South Wales in Tribolium castaneum (Hbst.) since 1968, in Sitophilus oryzae (L.) since 1970 and in Rhyzopertha dominica (F.), S. granarius (L.) and T. confusum Duv. since 1971 by exposing adults to filter-paper impregnated with the compound. Resistance to dichlorvos was detected in R. dominica in 1972 by the same method (modified to prevent vapour loss) and by exposing caged adults to dichlorvos vapour in sealed flasks.
