Resistance to virus diseases in some potato varieties and hybrid clones and their importance in breeding

Resistance to virus diseases in some potato varieties and hybrid clones and their importance in breeding

Resistance of potato to virus diseases, its establishment and use in breeding: 45-50

The best virus-resistant breeding material for the climatic conditions of Bulgaria includes Katahdin and Samokov 9243, which also transmit to their progeny good tuber shape, and Schwalbe Hybrids which showed the highest combined resistance to viruses include Bona X Katahdin, Fortuna X Schwalbe, Samokov 9243 X Gyultsov 633 and Samokov 9243 X Schwalbe. Data are tabulated on varietal resistance to viruses X, S, Y, M, mosaic and leaf roll, and on hybrid clones resistant to mosaic and leaf roll.
