Resource use efficiency and resource adjustment possibilities in Punjab agriculture



Agricultural Situation in India 30(1): 3-9



Each of a sample of farms in the central plains of Punjab located in two general types of farming areas, bet (canal irrigated) and non-bet (non-irrigated) areas, was further classified on the basis of source of irrigation and source of draught power, using 1968-69 data. Log linear relations indicating Cobb-Douglas production functions were fitted to each type of farming area with all the variables except land converted on a per acre basis.
