Respiration and enzymic activity during the photoperiodic induction in Chinko barley

Respiration and enzymic activity during the photoperiodic induction in Chinko barley

Revue Roumaine de Biologie, Biologie Vegetale 21(2): 87-92

Seedlings of barley Chinko at the 4- to 5-leaf stage were kept in continuous light or in short days with 9-10 h light to induce flowering. After the opt. induction period of 15 short days, respiration increased and remained at the increased level. Catalase and peroxidase activities decreased after the 10 short days which was the lowest number to give floral induction.
