Respiration and ethylene synthesis of Golden Delicious apples in different conditions of post-harvest ripening

Respiration and ethylene synthesis of Golden Delicious apples in different conditions of post-harvest ripening

Colloques Internationaux du Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (238): 73-80

Three experiments are reported on the effects of fruit size, stage of maturity and storage conditions on apple respiration, ethylene content and quality. In apples picked at the normal time but varying in size (100-200 g), and held in air at 20 deg C, the ethylene concentration increased with fruit size.
