Cytochrome oxidase activity was detected in all stages, except the ovaries and mature oocytes, of the life-cycle of Ascaris suum. A CO-binding haemoprotein was found in male muscle, sperm, A-region eggs and 0-day and 10-day eggs but in neither somatic tissues nor germ cells of females. 2 co-existent respiratory pathways may exist in adult muscle, one inhibited by cyanide and the other by SHAM.
