Respiration of ragi leaves infected with Helminthosporium nodulosum

Indian Phytopathology 28(3): 416-417

When 30-day-old greenhouse-grown Eleusine coracana plants of the susceptible variety Co4 and the resistant variety K1 were inoculated with a highly virulent, a moderately virulent and an avirulent isolate of H. nodulosum (Cochliobolus nodulosus), the respiratory rate increased immediately after inoculation in leaves of both varieties.
