Respiration rate and mitochondrial activity in Iris bulbs

Respiration rate and mitochondrial activity in Iris bulbs

Physiologia Plantarum 35(4): 328-332

A marked increase in the O2 uptake of bulb scales after transfer from 30 to 13 deg C was not accompanied by an equivalent increase in the oxidative capacity of the mitochondria, which suggests that the latter were not responsible for the increase in O2 uptake.
