Response of Culex spp. larvae and their natural insect predators to two inoculation rates with Dugesia dorotocephala (Woodworth) in shallow ponds

Response of Culex spp. larvae and their natural insect predators to two inoculation rates with Dugesia dorotocephala (Woodworth) in shallow ponds

Mosquito News 37(3): 435-440

The results are presented of investigations in which Dugesia dorotocephala was introduced at 10-25 mature planaria/m2 water surface into experimental earthen pond ecosystems in California in July 1975, 3 weeks after flooding, for the biological control of larval populations of Culex peus Speiser, C. tarsalis Coq. and C. pipiens fatigans Wied. (quinquefasciatus auct.) that developed there.
