In trials with 6 high-yielding rice given 100 kg N + 50 kg P2O5 + 50 kg K2O/ha, soil application of 50 kg ZnSO4/ha alone and in combination with foliar spray of 5 kg ZnSO4 in 500 l water/ha at the early flowering stage increased paddy yields of IR8, Jayanti, Vidyasagar and Hector, but had no effect on yields of Sona and Sri Arabindo.
