Response of Mexican wheat cultivars to nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers

In field trials in 1973-4 and 1974-5, wheat (a) Super X, (b) Mexipak 69 and (c) Shenap 70 were given 0-200 kg superphosphate (15.5% P2O5) to the seedbed and 0-90 kg N/feddan at tillering. Grain yields for the 2 growing seasons were 2.48 and 2.36 t/feddan in (a), 2.32 and 2.33 t in (b) and 2.28 and 2.21 t in (c).
