Response of Mn application and evaluation of chemical extractants to determine available Mn in some arid brown soils of Haryana

Response of Mn application and evaluation of chemical extractants to determine available Mn in some arid brown soils of Haryana

Journal of the Indian Society of Soil Science 23(3): 357-364

Significant responses to Mn application in oats, under greenhouse conditions, were obtained in 4 out of 10 arid brown soils at Haryana. Mn concentration and uptake in oats were increased several fold by Mn application. In general, Mn responses were observed when plant Mn concentration was less than 64 ppm.Among the extractants evaluated, N NH4OAc (exchangeable Mn) was found to be the best extractant for predicting the Mn status of these soils.
