Response of Phalaris arundinacea on peat soil to phosphorus and potassium fertilizers

Response of Phalaris arundinacea on peat soil to phosphorus and potassium fertilizers

Dostizheniya nauki Nechernozem' yu: 90-97

In trials in 1966-74 in Novgorod region, N. Russia, P. arundinacea grown on peat soil was given 30-90 kg P2O5 and 30-120 kg K2O/ha each year in addition to 60 kg N/ha in spring + 45 kg N/ha after the 1st cut or no N. The effectiveness of K in increasing hay yields increased with increasing number of years during which it was applied. P was less effective than K. The economic fertilizer rate was N + 90 kg P2O5 + 60 kg K2O/ha.
