Response of barley genotypes to drought at specific ontogenetic stages

Response of barley genotypes to drought at specific ontogenetic stages

3rd International Congress of the Society for the Advancement of Breeding Researches in Asia and Oceania SABRAO Plant Breeding Papers: 1-3 Genotype environmental interactions and physiology b Breeding for resistance to environmental stress: 1-5

A study was made of the relationships between water used, total dry weight and grain yield in plants subjected to water stress and also grown under conditions of normal water supply. Data from two pot experiments with 8 and 18 varieties of diverse origin and which varied in yield and growth period, suggested that escape and avoidance mechanisms are very important in drought resistance.
