Response of barley varieties to frequency of irrigation and levels of nitrogen in Chambal Command Area, Madhya Pradesh

The field experiments with barley conducted at Bhind, Baroda, and Jora of the Chambal Command Area, showed that K19 was the best variety for Baroda conditions whereas at the other two locations the varietal differences were not significant. In the first year, progressive increases in yield were obtained with increasing numbers of irrigation at all the three locations, but in the second year due to good winter showers received at Bhind and Jora, such increases were confined to Baroda only.
