Response of bean plant (Vicia faba) to N, P and K

In 2 series of field trials in 1959-63 and 1966-71 at sites throughout Egypt, beans (Vicia faba) were given N, P and K. Results indicated little response to N at any rate of application and there was no response to K. However, a seed yield increase of 11.7 and 19.8% over the untreated control was obtained following application of 36 and 72 kg P2O5/ha, resp.
