Response of boll weevils and other insects to grandlure exposed in two basic types of traps

Response of boll weevils and other insects to grandlure exposed in two basic types of traps

Journal of Economic Entomology 69(1): 6-8

Tests in or near cotton fields in Mississippi in 1972-73 showed that the Leggett trap (a non-sticky yellow conical trap baited with grandlure) was much more selective in the attraction of adults of Anthonomus grandis Boh. than was the Whittam trap (similar to the Leggett trap but coated in an adhesive). The percentages of A. grandis in the total collection of insects in the two traps were 58 and 6, respectively.
