Response of cacao to chemical fertilizers, on the alluvial soil of Rio Quevedo, Ecuador

Over a period of ten years yield was increased only by application of N. This also increased the N and Mn content of leaves. P and K fertilizers had no significant effect. Leaves from non-fertilized trees had adequate levels of P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe and Mn. The N content was low, and that of Ca very high.
