Response of carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus) to various levels of N, P and K fertilization

In a trial with carnation, Marguerite Scarlet, spaced at 25 plants/m2, the effects were assessed of N at 0, 20 or 40 g/m2, P at 0, 10 or 20 g/m2 and K at 0, 30 or 60 g/m2, in all possible combinations. N and P at the highest rates increased plant height and shoot numbers. The greatest number of flowers was obtained with N and P at 40 and 10 g, respectively. The largest flowers were obtained with N and K at 20 and 60 g, respectively.
