Response of crops in multiple cropping to irrigation and nitrogen in the Hirakua Area

In crop rotation trials with rice (July-Sept.)/mustard (Oct.-Jan.)/rice (Feb.-May), rice gave high paddy yields under soil saturation conditions up to the late tillering stage followed by 3-5 cm submergence until maturity and by the application of 120 and 140 kg N/ha to the 1st and the 3rd crops, respectively.
