Response of cultivars of cassava, Manihot esculenta Crantz to attack by the mite Mononychellus tanajoa (Bondar) in the State of Ceara - Brazil

In a field test in the Brazilian State of Ceara in 1976, 44 cultivars of cassava were tested for resistance to attacks by the mite Mononychellus tanajoa (Bondar). When the plants were 10 months old, damage was assessed visually and the numbers of eggs and other stages on samples of leaves were counted. The results are shown in a table, from which it is evident that 5 cultivars were fairly resistant, 15 tolerated the attack and 24 were susceptible.
