Response of deciduous fruit trees and several orchard weeds to glyphosate

Response of deciduous fruit trees and several orchard weeds to glyphosate

Abstracts 1974 Meeting Weed Science Society of America: 116-117

Experiments were conducted during the 1971 to '73 seasons to determine the effectiveness and safety of glyphosate for weed control under several species of deciduous fruit trees. Glyphosate was applied at rates from 1.12 to 4.48 kg/ha in orchards ranging in age from the first year of planting to 20-years-old. Complete knock-down of annual weeds was obtained with 1.12 kg/ha, but seedlings rapidly reinfested the plots unless residual herbicides were added.
