Response of different winter wheat cultivars to fertilizers

In trials in 1971-3 in Poltava region in the Ukraine with 3 winter wheat cultivars given 0-120 kg N, 0-80 kg P2O5 and 0-80 kg K2O/ha, application of 120 kg N + 40 kg P2O5 + 40 kg K2O/ha to Mironovskaya Yubileinaya and Avrora and 60 kg N + 40 kg P2O5 + 40 kg K2O/ha to Mironovskaya 808 increased average grain yields from 3.88, 3.69 and 3.71 t without NPK to 5.08, 4.9 and 4.44 t/ha, respectively, and increased grain protein and gluten contents and percentage of translucent grains.
