Response of dwarf spring wheat cultivars to fertilizers under irrigated conditions

In irrigated trials in 1971-3 in Kuibyshev region, 8 dwarf spring wheat cultivars from the USA and 4 dwarf cultivars from Mexico gave average grain yields of 3.39-4.09 t/ha with 90 kg/ha each of N, P2O5 and K2O and 4.04-4.46 t with 180 kg N + 180 kg P2O5 + 90 kg K2O/ha, compared with respective yields of 3.17 and 2.94 t in the standard Bezenchukskaya 98.
