Response of dwarf wheat varieties to different levels of nitrogen fertilization and dates of sowing

In trials with 2 dwarf and 1 tall wheat cultivars in 1967-9, delay in sowing on 4 dates at 15-day intervals from 15 Nov. to 30 Dec. decreased grain yields from 3.53-3.75 to 2.15-2.36 t/ha. Yields increased from 2.52-2.56 t with 40 kg N/ha to 3.29-3.7 t with 120 kg N/ha and thereafter decreased with 160 kg N/ha.
