Response of established Siratro (Macroptilium atropurpureum cv. Siratro) pastures in south east Queensland to phosphorus fertilizer

Response of established Siratro (Macroptilium atropurpureum cv. Siratro) pastures in south east Queensland to phosphorus fertilizer

Tropical Grasslands 11(1): 67-77

Rates of Ca phosphate supplying up to 60 kg P/ha were top-dressed onto established commercial grass/Siratro pastures in 18 experiments conducted during 3 yr in SE Queensland. Siratro was the most responsive component but increases in DM yield were measured at only 5 sites. Its responsiveness did not appear to be influenced by the type of soil, associated grass, legume percentage or rainfall.
