In field trials, sweet corn (a) Florida 104, (b) Florida 106, (c) Florida 107 and (d) Silver Queen were sown in spring, autumn or winter with 71 or 81 cm between rows. Whole ear yields with spring sowing were 60% greater than with autumn or winter sowing; plants in 71-cm rows gave 9% greater yields than those in 81-cm rows.
